Prayer is at the heart of all that we do at St John's. We encourage all church members to see prayer as our first priority and seek to engage with God and lift the needs and concerns of the church, the local community and the wider world before Him.
We have 2 prayer meetings a month that we invite you to join us at.
Prayer, Praise and Prophecy is on the 1st Thursday of the month, 8-9pm in the church (please use the main church doors, not the centre doors).
Power House Prayer is on the 3rd Thursday of the month, 1-2pm in the church centre. This is a time of prayer, praise and a simple lunch.
We are completely dependent upon God for our life as a church and so we seek him at every turn. During every Sunday morning service we rely upon individuals and groups to lead us in corporate prayer, and have a prayer ministry team who are available to pray for individual needs. Our heart when we meet together is to lift individual and community needs before the Lord and seek his leading.
We have a dedicated team of people ready to pray in urgent times of need. If you would like someone to pray for you contact Janet Durrant (Pastoral Care Co-ordinator) and a team of people will pray for you in strict confidence – 01483 574562
A daily time of prayer is held each morning 9.15am-9.45am in the Stoughton Chapel Prayer Area to pray for regular needs and the Sunday services. All are welcome. On Thursdays this is often an extended time.
The 1st Wednesday of each month, 8.00-9.00pm. We meet outside St Peter's Church, Hazel Avenue & walk around the area, often including parts of our parish as well as St Peter's. For those unable to walk, there is the opportunity to pray in St Peter's for this hour in support of the walkers.
